Patriotism

“Every man,” said President Roosevelt, “who parrots the cry of ‘stand by the President’ without adding the proviso ‘so far as he serves the Republic’ takes an attitude as essentially unmanly as that of any Stuart royalist who championed the doctrine that the King could do no wrong. Should we pray for our civic leaders and encourage them in righteousness?

I challenge you today when you close your day in prayer to pray for our civic leaders and ask our Father in Heaven to bless them to feel a sense of encouragement when they are doing what He would have them do.
